Peak Oil: An Idea Whose Time Is Up

Analysts have found that investors spooked by the peak oil theory — the belief that crude production has topped out and is in decline — are partly behind the soaring oil prices. Someone should set them straight.

There's no reason for investors to act as if the world is running out of oil. It isn't.

Global Warming Skeptics Plot 'Carbon Belch Day'

Conservative grassroots group Grassfire.org wants people to waste as much energy as possible on June 12 by "hosting a barbecue, going for a drive, watching television, leaving a few lights on, or even smoking a few cigars."
The point: the group wants to "help Americans break free from the 'carbon footprint guilt' being imposed by Climate Alarmists."

Grassfire.org says it's skeptical over claims that man-made sources of carbon dioxide emissions -- from automobile exhausts to manufacturing plants -- are raising the Earth's temperature at a dangerous rate. Theories about global warming were highlighted by former Vice President Al Gore's 2006 film, An Inconvenient Truth.
Grassfire.org president Steve Elliott, in a statement, said such theories are off the mark. "It's time for Americans to purge ourselves of the false guilt that Al Gore and the Climate Alarmists have placed on us," Elliott said.

Grassfire.org said it chose June 12 as the day it wants Americans to rev up their SUVs because it coincides with expected debate in Congress over a $1.2 billion carbon tax rebate program. "Carbon Belch Day will have at least as much impact on the so-called 'planetary emergency' of man-made global warming as the goofy save the earth mandates telling us to turn our lights off for an hour," said Elliott.

Cities around the world went dark for an hour on March 31 to mark "Earth Hour," an event created by the World Wide Fund for Nature to inspire people to find ways to use less energy.

Grassfire.org is the latest group to question whether global warming is a real phenomenon, or whether it's as severe as portrayed in Gore's film. London's Daily Telegraph this week called environmentalism "the new secular faith."

The paper said the United Kingdom's carbon credits program for industry is "just like the medieval trade in indulgences, where remission for sins was granted by the Church once the sinner confessed and received absolution."

Meet the Oregon Petition Project

The Petition Project was organized by a group of physicists and physical chemists who conduct scientific research at several American scientific institutions. The petition statement and the signatures of its 31,072 signers, however, speak for themselves. The primary relevant role of the organizers is that they are among the 9,021 PhD signers of the petition.

A Mini-Interview With Dennis Avery, Co-Author Of, "Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1500 Years."

Self explanatory. Apparently, increases in global mean temperature are more closely related to solar activity than to CO2 levels. Who would have thought? (And yes, I found this on a site called RightWingNews. If there is a similar site called LeftWingNews, I'd at least read it for a different opinion. Can you say the same?)

Gore Celebrates Israel's 60th with Some Whoppers

After delivering a scientifically inept global warming lecture in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, greenhouse gasbag Al Gore presented Israel with a 60th birthday gift of custom tailored, regionally-targeted Globaloney.

As adaptable to his surroundings as any desert snake, the shameless Nobel laureate told conference attendees that plunging water levels in their lakes and rivers were the result of -- guess what?

Gore's baloney aside, it was - in fact -- the diversion to farmland, hydroelectric projects and cities of 90 percent of the rivers that feed it that was responsible for the Dead Sea's dramatic declines.

The Unholy Alliance that manufactured Global Warming

Wow.

In previous parts of this series (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) I’ve shown how a political agenda took over climate science primarily through the UN and specifically the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The agenda was spread to the world at the 1992 Rio Conference. Periodic Reports from the IPCC maintained the focus on CO2 and increased the political pressure. Please understand I am not claiming a conspiracy, but rather a cabal, which is defined as a secret political clique pushing a political agenda; in this case, designed by Maurice Strong.

Although the IPCC was the major vehicle other agencies got caught up quickly as governments became more involved. Results of the IPCC reports were skillfully propagandized so the issue took hold with the media and the public. It was also due to bureaucrats in each country carefully selected from weather related offices to serve on the IPCC. As MIT professor Richard Lindzen, former member of the IPCC said, “It is no small matter that routine weather service functionaries from New Zealand to Tanzania are referred to as ‘the world’s leading climate scientists.’ It should come as no surprise that they will be determinedly supportive of the process.” A political bias made a few of them especially supportive. The pattern of their machinations emerged early and continues. A measure of this was how long many of them kept the Hockey Stick graph on official government web sites.

Read the rest of the article. Read the whole series. Wow.

Subsidies for Various Forms of Energy

This is a discussion of the differing subsidies for various forms of energy. It comes as no surprise that "green" renewable sources have high subsidies. The surprise is in just how high the subsidies are compared to other forms.

FTA : "That's a reality to keep in mind the next time you hear a politician talk about creating millions of "green jobs." Those jobs won't come cheap, and you'll be paying for them."

Bum Rap on Bio Fuels

Here's some information on bio-fuels. I'm sure you have heard that our movement towards using corn and soy as a basis for fuel is creating an issue in world food markets. As you might expect, the mainstream media isn't giving you the whole story.

So much for 'Settled Science'

You may have heard earlier this month that global warming is now likely to take break for a decade or more. There will be no more warming until 2015, perhaps later.
Climate scientist Noel Keenlyside, leading a team from Germany's Leibniz Institute of Marine Science and the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology, for the first time entered verifiable data on ocean circulation cycles into one of the U. N.'s climate supercomputers, and the machine spit out a projection that there will be no more warming for the foreseeable future.

Sounds like good news to me.

An Inconvenient Guilt Trip

"Look fellow humans, if we all turned off our power, never started a car ever again and stayed right where we are this very minute sitting on the ground eating worms in the dark while using leaves instead of toilet paper. Global Climate Change would still happen!

Always has, always will". This is a fun little site.

The Race is On

Junk Science expert Steven Milloy takes a look at the latest problem with Global Warming. It seems that our world is cooling naturally, in spite of rising atmospheric CO2. But wait, you say, Al Gore said that atmospheric CO2 makes the world so much hotter that we are all doomed. In fact he said that just yesterday. How could he be so wrong? It must be some kind of fluke. Yeah, maybe that's it.

Hippy-Crites

I decided to include this article because it discusses how our favorite Hollywood celebs have been caught not doing what they preach. Not only do they rarely practice what they preach to you and me, but they do it in such a huge way that the rest of us would be outright embarrassed to be caught behaving in such a way.

Great site link.

Here is an extremely comprehensive site just chock full of information refuting the whole global warming scenario. While I am sure that the global warming folks have their own such sites, it seems clear from this site that the science, and the opinion, is far from settled.

Al Gore is getting rich (and you're not)

Al Gore’s Carbon Crusade
The Money and Connections Behind It
Former Vice President Al Gore’s crusade against carbon dioxide emissions could make him millions of dollars. With help from friends at Goldman Sachs, Gore has established a network of organizations to promote the “climate crisis”—and keep himself in the spotlight. Gore’s crusade already has had an enormous impact on corporate decision-making and government policies. But how will it affect his personal and political fortunes? This link goes to a detailed 9 page article that describes the money engine that Al Gore has put in place.

From The Article (FTA): "while the mainstream media promotes his ideas about the state of planet Earth, it is mostly silent about the dramatic impact his economic proposals would have on America.
And journalists routinely ignore evidence that he may personally benefit from his programs.
Would the romance fizzle if Gore’s followers realized how much their man stands to gain?"

This is the smoking gun into his finances for which I have been searching. It is remarkable to see the breadth of what he has put in motion here.
